Thanks to specific UV additives and a superficial polyester veil, we can guarantee a high durability of our products, without the need of repainting or recovery.
The non-conductive nature of glass and resin, which are the main components in our products, permit to obtain an ideal electrical insulator. That’s why Fibraworld’s GRP profiles are massively used for cable trays and ladders.
GRP profiles are remarkably resistant to temperature changes. With a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0,31 W/mK, the mechanical properties remain unchanged from -40°C to 180°C. Our products are the perfect solution where energy saving is important.
Using the right fillers, we can meet any normative concerning self-estinguishing and fire resistance, with or without halogens.
One of the main advantages of GRP is that it doesn’t corrode. Using dedicated formulations, we can provide a high resistance in every environment, even if immersed in water.
Our GRP products has an outstanding resistance to chemical agents such as acids and solvents.
GRP has a high mechanical resistance, especially along the direction of the longitudinal fibers (pultrusion direction). By exploiting the anisotropy of GRP products, we can set in which directions our product must be mechanically more resistant, modifying the angle and the type of fibers.
Our GRP products don’t deform after an impact. Thanks to the glass Mat, the impact is distributed along the product, without damaging the surface. This characteristic is valid for any temperature condition.
Thanks to its electromagnetic transparency, GRP is used for constructions nearby radars, for antennae enclosures and structural elements of metal detectors.
Our GRP products are lighter 35% than aluminum and 75% than steel. This facilitates handling and drastically reduces the logistic costs.
Thanks to its low coefficient of thermal expansion, GRP has a high dimensional stability.
Our GRP profiles can be produced directly in the required RAL color. The pigment is inside the product, and it allows to have a lasting color over time without the need to paint it. It’s also possible to use superficial veils, in order to indelibly mark your products with a logo or plot.
It’s very easy to work our GRP products, using all the tools (possibly diamond-coated) utilized for the traditional materials like metal. Due to the nature of GRP, it is not possible to weld the profiles together, but there are alternative ways like gluing or bolting, that permit you to mount fast the desired system.
Once installed, you will forget about it. Thanks to its longevity, our GRP profiles provide numerous cost savings during the product’s life cycle, avoiding continuous replacements due to degradation over time.
